Adventure Of The Dreamworld

Dreams give us a doorway into a strange and wonderful world. Although it appears to have many of the features of our waking world, such as people, animals, objects and places, it is nevertheless full of subtle surprises and differences.

To enter this world while asleep leaves us largely unaware of its possibilities.

To take waking awareness into our entrance, as happens when we explore a dream through dream processing, unfolds the magic impact of what we meet.

When we open the door of dreams in this way we begin a journey. It has stages, problems to surmount and things to learn, just like any journey. Many people have already travelled before us, and there are books such as Alice in Wonderland, The Odyssey, Exploring Inner Space, and Altered States oj Consciousness which describe journeys and the terrain.

Although we might meet the heights of religious experience as well as the depths of human despair on the journey, in simple terms it is primarily a journey into a confrontation with our own potential, our own fear, our own prison bars of thought and habit, our own ability to lift perception beyond what we have known before and look at the world, and our life in it, from new perspectives.

It is a journey towards greater maturity in which we face the humbling vision of our own littleness, the moving encounter with the vulnerable child we once were, the cleaning out of the store cupboards of resentment, hurt and anger, the D1Y of conscious renewal of our identity, and the meeting with Love as we experience ourself as a living participator in the wonder of life. We look at birth, we meet death, we gaze into the vast depths of space out of which our being has arisen. Then we find ourselves seeing the faces of the other human beings we live with, and recognising we are all on the journey, and we only have each other. Realising we are all waves on a shoreless sea—from no port we move to no destination—we understand our self responsibility, and consider what we will to do with the momentum of our life. ... Fire Of The World

A fire in a particular town, suburb or house which is situated on arid land, and such a fire gives off violent, blazing flames destroying anything in its path ,and it also gives off thunderous, frightening sounds, then such a dream is a bad omen that repression and oppression will become the order of the day in that place where the fire had been seen.

If the place is not arid, it means epidemic, pleurisy or smallpox will break out there or many deaths will occur.

If the fire has no sound and flames in it and it destroys some things and leaves other things unharmed, it symbolizes accidents and deaths occurring in that place.... Islamic Dream Interpretation

Nuclear War / End-of-the-world Scenarios

Although you could interpret your dreams literally, a much more likely interpretation is a symbolic one. In this respect, dreams about nuclear war, the earth exploding, stars and planets falling from the sky, or the superpowers declaring war on each other would be a symbol for the ‘end of the world’ as you know it—in other words, some kind of personal upheaval that would completely change your life. Amongst such events, one should consider: the divorce of your parents, having to move house, ending your time at one school and going to another, having your best friend move and so on. Whatever has changed in your life has rocked your sense of things and your peace of mind on a global level. Therefore, rest assured, the dream is probably not about the end of the world, but is instead about a big change in your world. Whatever and however your life has been up until now, it has changed and it will never be the same again; the positive message that you take from such a dream is that you will emerge from this destruction into a fresh, new phase.

Feeling dramatically out of control in your personal life can trigger apocalypse dreams. These may be caused by hormones in adolescence, the menopause or andropause, the death of a loved one (especially a parent), or divorce and other significant relationship losses. The dream visions of the world ending are an escape mechanism to avoid dealing with a world so dramatically changed by new circumstances. In some cases, world-ending dreams feature the dreamer alone amongst generally unrecognized figures, reflecting the dreamer’s sense of isolation in waking life. When interpreting this type of dream, you should ask yourself, ‘How is the world ending and who is to blame?’ This dream may be calling for you to protect yourself against a risk that takes you well outside your comfort zone, to become more involved in a particular cause, or to think again about the rationale of your fears.

If you are religious in waking life, you may have a dream in which significant icons of your faith initiate, or withstand, the massive destruction. Another scenario is that adherents to your religious or belief system are identified in a particular way and thereby survive the destruction. In these dreams, the world is often reordered. Often, these dreams will accompany a time in the dreamer’s life when they feel that the entire world is against them, and it is only their association with something larger than themselves that can provide a resolution to the struggles being faced.... Pool

also see Water

Dreaming of a pool deals with our need for the understanding of our own emotions and inner feelings.

A pool in a wood, for instance, would suggest the ability to understand our own need for peace and tranquillity.

An urban swimming pool might signify our need for structure in our relationships with other people, whereas a pool in the road would suggest an emotional problem to be got through before carrying out our plans.

In order to understand ourselves we may need to explore the pool by totally immersing ourselves in it, that is, to become involved in our own emotions. How we deal with what arises (in more senses than one) will teach us a lot about ourselves.

The pool may suggest a form of cleansing, particularly of old traumas and emotions or of past misdeeds.

The most potent image of that is baptism by immersion.

3- There is a meditation or guided imagery technique which can enhance one’s ability to dream. First, you picture yourselves walking in a field. Feel the grass beneath your feet and the wind on your face. Walk towards a slight dip in the ground which is to your left. At the bottom of this dip there is a pool which is surrounded by trees. Sit quietly by the pool, simply thinking about your life. When you are ready, stand up and walk into the pool very slowly. Feci the water rising slowly up your body until you are immersed completely. At that point let go of all the tensions of the everyday world and concentrate on the peace which is within. Then slowly emerge from the pool, and again sit quietly beside it. When you arc ready, walk back to the point in the field where you started, and let the image fade. By practising this, gradually it will be found that the dream images take on a deeper meaning.... Spool

In a dream,a spool means keeping one’s secrets, or it could represent a gracious man, or a trustworthy person who lends his help to others and benefits them in their worldly affairs.

If one sees himself carrying a spool while taking his ritual ablution in a dream, it means that he will seek the help of a righteous believer who holds fast to the rope of God Almighty. In that sense, a spool represents the element of religious life and the rope in a dream signifies religion, which is one’s connection to his Lord. Carrying a spool when performing one’s ablution in a dream means that one will be permanently cured from ills and become free from debts.

(Creation; Lower world; Material; Woman) In a dream, the world represents a woman, and a woman represents the world, Ifone sees himselfdeparting from this world in a dream, it means that he may divorce his wife.

If one sees the world as totally destroyed and that he is the only remaining soul in it in a dream, it means that he may lose his sight. Ifone sees as though the entire world is placed before him to take whatever he desires from it in a dream, it means that he may become poor, or that he may die shortly after that dream. Seeing the world in a dream also means distractions, jokes, deception, arrogance, negating promises, failing one’s promises, theft, cheating, trickery, sufferings, a prostitute, adversities, sickness, paying fines, mental depression, limitations, appointments, dismissals, or disappointments. It also may be interpreted as one’s wife, child, material growth, business success, good harvest, awakening, victory, love, or a beloved with two faces. Whether the world appears beautiful or ugly in one’s dream, it could mean any of the above interpretations. Seeing the world in one’s dream also could be a divine guidance, showing the person what he or she must see and understand in this world.

If one sees himself walking away from the world in the dream, it means that he may become a renunciate. Ifone embraces the world in the dream, it means that he will amply satisfy his desire for it. Ifone sees himselfrunning after it and the world running away from him in the dream, it means that the world will ultimately deceive him and lead him into temptation.
