Someone taking credit for an idea or accomplishment, instead of sharing the recognition with those who deserve it.
Look to see what is taken in the dream, as this can provide more meaning.
For example, seeing someone rob a house symbolizes a person or situation threatening your personal space or possessions.
Dreams of stealing, pickpocketing, burglary, robbery, theft, petty crime or taking what is not yours generally suggest that you feel envious of another person in some way and want to have what they have. The key to the dream’s interpretation is to identify who you are thieving FROM and what you are trying to take.
If you are blackmailing someone in your dream or they are trying to blackmail you, this indicates emotional blackmail that you may be using to try and force someone to do as you want, or emotional blackmail used on you by someone else to get from you what they want.
People steal for two reasons.
If they are poor and feel like they have no other alternative or if they are greedy and do not want to put the time and the effort into earning what they need.
(The needs could be emotional as well as material.) Stealing alludes to moral questions in the dream’s psyche. Consider all of the details of your dream and try to understand why the stealing is taking place. Are people taking from you without your permission, or are you trying to reap the benefits of that which you did not earn? The message from the unconscious may be that of self-evaluation, neediness, and morality.

To dream of stealing, or of seeing others commit this act, foretells bad luck and loss of character.
