Example: ‘Some three years ago I had constant dreams with my mother. We were nearly always in some son of argument or fight’ (Maijorie B). Usually, as in the example, the dreamers anger or frustration; may express difficulties in regard to independence or self confidence; desire to hun another person, or damage their reputation.
Example: ‘I realised a door had been left open that should have been locked and I felt very vulnerable. Suddenly a sword of light appeared in my hand and a voice told me that it was my weapon to fight the evil’ (Mrs DE).
A fight also depicts, as in the example, fighting for our space; our values or honour, we may fight for survival, for our health, fight crime (resist criminal impulses); we may also feel attacked by another person’s opinions, assaulted by sexual desire; fight against depression; have a conflict over moral issues. See attack; war. Idioms: fight it out; fight like cat and dog; look for a fight.
A fight is a masculine-principle way of solving a problem by meeting it head-on with equal force. This approach may or may not be effective. Look to where in your life you may be fighting something that would be better surrendered to.
A warning to avoid conflict
If you are fighting with an unknown figure, whether it’s an argument or an out-and-out fistfight, or if you’re participating in a free-for-all, this is a loud and clear message that major changes are on the way. Considering the dreamer’s circumstances as well as other symbols in the dream will reveal the nature of the change, and/or what the dreamer needs to do in order to face it.
Standing on the sidelines and watching other people fight indicates that the troubles of others may spill over into your life.
A dream of war indicates an inner battle.
The dreamer needs to look within and see what it is that’s keeping them from getting anywhere. Other symbols in the dream might help.
A fight in dreams is quite literally a spiritual conflict. We need to work out where and why there is a conflict and perhaps deal with it in a subtle way.
Psychological / emotional perspective: If we dream that we are in a fight, it usually indicates that we are confronting our need for independence. We may also need to express our anger and frustration and the subconscious desire to hurt a part of ourselves. We also may wish to hurt someone else, although this would be unacceptable in the waking state.
Material aspects: To fight back is a natural defence mechanism, so when we are feeling threatened in our everyday lives, we will often dream of taking that situation one stage further and fighting it out.
To throw a punch in a dream is to recognize our own distress or aggression.
To be punched is often to have invited such aggression.
Gives gender - specific: Fighting tends to be a masculine response to a problem so in a man’s dream he may well be attempting to deal with his own reactions. In a woman’s dream she will be developing her own assertiveness and must decide whether her actions are appropriate. You might like to consult the entry for conflict for further clarification.
Because life itself is so full of conflicts, dream fights can refer to any number of different struggles in our everyday life. Also, the culture in which we are raised can place so many conflicting demands upon us that we are filled with inner tensions, and these various inner conflicts can all be symbolized in dreams as physical fights.
As with all dream symbols, the tone and setting of the dream indicate which meaning is applicable.
In a dream, a fight means deception, betrayal, misleading or trickery.
A fight in a dream also means inflation and rising prices, plague, food lines, adversities or stress.
If a soldier sees himself engaged in a battle in a dream, it means that he will receive benefits and a rewarding success. Fighting unjust people in a dream means triumph over injustice, supporting the needs of one’s father or mother first, or being protective of one’s wife or husband. Fighting against the truth in a dream means aligning oneself with heedless people or going astray.

Symbolizes a problematic way you deal with aggression. Behind it is almost always the wish to deal with aggression more effectively and more constructively. Contradictory thoughts and actions.
1. Mounting conflict, usually of an inner nature, between parts of self.
2. Conflicts in waking life getting out of control; explore more creative resolutions.
3. Bad luck in relationships.
Dreams of a fight represent that you are venting out aggression, resentment, rage, and hostility toward yourself and/or others. Keep in mind that your anger and willingness to fight for what you believe in is the energy you need to make positive changes in your life. See Venting Dream and War.

3- Quite literally a spiritual conflict.
The dreamer should try to work out where, and why, there is a conflict and perhaps deal with it in a more subtle way than with ‘all guns blazing’.

A fight is the result of a situation that has reached its limit and cannot be resolved peacefully. In this case, its meaning is the same as DISPUTE or WAR. But it can also be associated with VENTING. The dreamer feels uncomfortable or attacked by someone around him, but in waking life cannot, or will not, express his unconformity. So, the unconscious releases an inner battle and represents it in an oneiric scene.
This dream could represent your most intimate frustrations and feelings about the circumstances around you. Deep down, you fight because the situation you are living does not meet your expectations.
According to the guru Sathya Sai Baba, the inner struggle does not exist: everything is provoked by the mark left by the past on our lives. Reminiscence for yesterday creates apparent problems in the present and future.
It is a matter of letting love flow and worrying less. So, the fight that your heart carries out will diminish. Often, this guru says, it is all the product of an illusion.
Filming If the dream unfolds like a film that stars yourself, different conclusions may be drawn according to its genre: if it is drama, an unfortunate matter will depress you; if it is a comedy, however, you will experience pleasant surprises. To direct a film involves excessive zeal to control everything that goes on around you.
If a maiden sees her best beloved engaged in fighting with another man, it is an omen that he will prove unworthy.
If a man dreams of seeing his lady love fighting with another woman, it is a sign that she will prove a competent housewife.
To dream that you win a fight means that you will overcome obstacles.
The basic meaning in a dream of fighting is change.
For a business person, it signifies a change of enterprise; for an employed person, a change of job, etc.
The degree of success or failure you may expect from the change was forecast in the outcome of your dreamed fight.
If your dream concerned others fighting, it is a warning against waste of time and money in idle pleasure.
