Stocking

(Sock) In a dream, stockings represent wealth and prevention, as long as they are not worn. Once seen worn in a dream, they mean business losses.

If one’s mother is alive, it means that he will migrate with her to another country, or it could mean that she will be deprived of her son.

If the socks are new and have a clean smell in the dream, it means that one regularly pays his due alms, that he is praised for his character and that his money will grow in a lawful way.

If his socks are old or emit bad odors in the dream, it means that he withholds paying the obligatory alms tax, that he is uncharitable, worthy of blame and that his wealth will quickly disappear.... Islamic Dream Interpretation

Smell

Dreaming of a smell often implies an actual physical sensation. Your nose may be picking up an odor that really exists. It’s important to be aware of this, especially if the smell is that of smoke or gas. Try to condition yourself to wake up whenever an ominous odor appears in a dream.

If this isn’t the case, dreaming of pleasant odors such as flowers, the salt air, or good food cooking symbolizes good times ahead, usually associated with whatever is giving off the odor. See Flowers, Beach, Coffee, etc.

Dreaming of unpleasant odors is a sign that something is being kept from you - as in the old saying, “I smell a rat.”... Dream Explanations of Astro Center

Hallway

It indicates a state of transition. The dream may be pleasant or terrifying, depending on how fluid or winding the way is and the existence or lack of light at the end of the hall.

It is important to analyze all the elements that appear throughout the corridor because they reflect the dreamer’s emotional state at the time of transit. However, the final key is the feeling that you have as you follow the path into the unknown. Running along a corridor without ever seeing the end may show the need to escape from a distressing situation that is repeated too often in reality. Also, it may refer to the attitudes that you must leave behind to pass from one life stage to another. Corridors and passages are places where energy is moving rapidly but never accumulates. This dream, therefore, may denote that we are in danger of losing all our energy and vitality.... The Big Dictionary of Dreams

Smells

Rarely we dream of scents that are not from the physical space where we are sleeping. Otherwise, the smells in dreams have a highly sensuous connotation.

It is possible that the unconscious has launched a compensation mechanism in response to lack of satisfactory sexual intercourse. Although sharp and unpleasant odors are very rare, if you perceived one, it means that you are reacting to the attitudes of others.

Each scent has a specific meaning. Mothballs allude to scandal; ginger, to love affairs; jasmine, to true spiritual experience; lavender, happiness in relationships; and nutmeg, deception. In general, a bad smell means disease; and a good one, health. Perfume denotes beauty and pride. To notice a good smell emanated by someone promises new friends; but if someone detects your odor, it is indicative of lost friendships.... The Big Dictionary of Dreams

Market

The colorful and varied array of goods for sale in an open-air market represents the huge range of choices that are available to you in waking life and this kind of dream is most likely to appear at times of great change in your life, such as starting a new job or a new relationship.

If you hear the many cries of market sellers or street vendors, this may express your fears of losing direction in waking life. Dreams of being in a market suggest your ability to cope with the demands and social interactions of daily life. If, however, the atmosphere in the market is closed in and intense, this may suggest feelings of confusion.

Bear in mind that markets are also places of buying and selling, so they can give you an indication of how highly you value yourself and your talents, and whether you feel you have something you can sell or there is something you want to buy. Busy market dreams may simply suggest that you need to spend more time with other people. The exotic atmosphere of a dream bazaar or souk represents the desire to seek out new and exciting experiences, whilst haggling merchants can represent people in your life who are extremely demanding.... Labyrinth And Maze

A labyrinth is a complex system of paths and tunnels in which it is easy to get lost. On one level, the appearance of a labyrinth in your dream suggests the need to explore the hidden side of your nature; the twists, turns, trials and tribulations of the labyrinth are a powerful symbol of the life journey towards the center of your existence. Within the labyrinth you can meet and overcome challenges and obstacles in life that prevent you from moving forward. From a psychological point of view, we must all take the heroic journey through the labyrinth of experience and come to terms with our fears and anxieties before confronting our shadow. Any dream image that has underground passages suggests a labyrinth. Some believe it represents an exploration of the feminine principle.

Jung saw the dark, enclosed labyrinth as a symbol of the tortuous depths of the unconscious and a dream of entering it as a voyage of self-discovery or an attempt to locate a deeply buried emotion. The void at the center of the labyrinth may suggest despair but it can also symbolize serenity and calm. A labyrinth is an archetype with which you can have direct experience. It is a metaphor for your life’s journey. As in the Greek myth of Theseus who entered King Minos’ labyrinth in Crete to slay the Minotaur, your descent into the unconscious, hidden aspects of your nature may involve confronting impulses that threaten your personal security and well-being.

Mazes are often confused with labyrinths but they are quite different. Labyrinths tend to symbolize the quest for knowledge and freedom, whereas mazes mirror the general confusion that may be fogging your sense of purpose in waking life. A maze is first of all open to the light, whereas a labyrinth is in the dark; furthermore, a maze has numerous entry points whereas a labyrinth only has one. A maze is like a puzzle to be solved, possessing twists, turns and blind alleys. It is a task that requires logical, sequential, analytical activity to find the correct path into the maze and out. A labyrinth, on the other hand, involves intuition and creativity. With a labyrinth there is only one choice to be made. The choice is to enter or not to enter. With mazes there are many choices to be made, with many entrances and exits.

Dead ends and cul-de-sacs present riddles to be solved. Mazes challenge the choice-making part of yourself.

In dreams, a maze can therefore reflect the difficulty in finding a direction to follow in life. No one can predict what is right or wrong, so you may have to rely on your instincts. If, in your dream, you have a map, chart or password to help you navigate your maze, this may reassure you that you are on the right path. Mazes can also often portray a confusion of ideas and feelings, the difficulty in finding your way through the mass of apparently irrational emotions and images arising from within, or the variety of opinions and seemingly authoritative sources of information with which the modern world bombards you. You may dream of a maze of corridors, for example, during periods in which your life seems particularly complicated and you are faced with choices and decisions. In this sense, the maze represents an attempt to find your way through conscious thoughts, opinions and doubts, to an opinion or mindset that is yours alone.

If you enlisted the aid of a ladder to help you get out of your maze, your dreaming mind may have been suggesting that you take a more logical, rational overview of your situation.

If you found a way out of your maze, this suggests that you will find a way to break free; but if you found yourself ending up in the same place whatever path you took, this could be reflecting your sense in waking life of going round in circles, covering the same ground or not being able to make a breakthrough. Bear in mind that tunnels and paths in dreams represent transitions, and entrances represent new directions; perhaps you have been so overwhelmed with emotion and confusion that you have not seen the opportunities already being presented to you. ...
