If one is in business, there is information in one’s own memory, along with considered projects, questions about problem areas, which have never been put on an electronic computer. And there is no computer program outside our own mind which can handle and manipulate all the variables, the integrating of different information sources—written words, feeling hunches, spoken information, personal observation and experience—and then sift, explore different combinations, and reach into pure creativity by leaping into the new.
Dreams should not be seen as oracles, but if we take their information into account along with our other sources, we find them a real addition to our business equipment.

See Vampire.
As far back as Greek mythology, teeth were said to refer to children.
The reason probably was that, during pregnancy, mothers experienced the rapid loss of their teeth (“Each child will cost you a tooth”).
In mythology teeth are considered similar to seed corn, comparable to dragon’s blood. In addition, teeth symbolize the oral qualities of the dreamer.
The possible reason for this might be an eating and biting urge, or the repression of it. And, last but not least, teeth, like Mouth, are used to take in food.

According to Jung and Freud, teeth are often a phallic symbol; and according to Freud, dreams about toothaches are considered masturbation dreams.

Dreams in which you lose a hand or a foot, are missing an internal organ or have a body part disappear or fall off are therefore often signs that some part of your potential is being lost due to the path you have chosen. The common dream of losing teeth may reflect waking problems but can also symbolize loss, the break up of relationships, moving house, moving away or any other change which involves the ending of one phase in life and the beginning of another.
If the teeth become loose but stay in your mouth choking you, this could mean that you are holding something back or keeping your thoughts and feelings to yourself; the price is some form of damage to yourself. A dream in which you lose your virginity is a reflection of the loss of childhood innocence. What have you lost recently in waking life that has damaged your previous system of beliefs? In some instances, such dreams can reflect feelings of regret about actual events or people you have lost but more often they are a symbol for something missing in your life; perhaps direction, confidence or intimacy or even a sense of personal identity. Another explanation suggests that such dreams are a warning that you are in danger of losing something important. Perhaps you have not been valuing or appreciating an aspect of your life enough. Finally, a dream of losing something or someone important can also suggest lost opportunities, past relationships or, according to Jungian analysis, forgotten aspects of yourself.
Your personal associations to the thing you lose will give you clues as to the emotional meaning and possible interpretation of your dream.
Dreams that leave you with a sense of frustration or anxiety are very common; you will almost certainly experience this kind of dream at some time or other, especially during times of stress in waking life. The stress may be triggered by an exam, a job interview, a relationship breaking up or fears of failing; this stress can express itself in dreams of falling or being confined, or dreams of feeling frustrated by a machine that doesn’t work or finding yourself naked in the middle of a busy street. According to Freud, such dreams are inspired by sexual frustration or anxiety, but most dream analysts believe that they stem from deepseated feelings of inadequacy or frustration in all areas of your waking life, not just the sexual. Another thing to consider is whether the frustration in the dream was ‘because’ of something. In other words, did it happen because you took a wrong direction, because you went along with a particular person or because you didn’t listen to advice? If you are able to pinpoint a cause or reason try to define what the‘because’ factor is in your everyday life.
However, disturbing, upsetting or frustrating such dreams can be they are not meant to cause more anxiety. Your dreaming mind has conjured up these images to enlighten and strengthen you. Whenever you have a dream that leaves you with feelings of loss, regret or frustration, try to pinpoint exactly what caused you the most anxiety in your dream as this may hold the key to understanding the root of your fear.
If you are able to understand the message of your unconscious, you will feel that you are in a better position to face your fears or at least to find ways to manage it if you are unable to conquer it.
This chapter covers some aspects of loss and frustration but there are countless others. For example, you can lose weight, hair, teeth, vision, smell, possessions, friends, your freedom, your personality, your children, a body part or even your own life in a dream. Dreams of being chased, paralyzed, imprisoned or missing a train can all refer to stressful situations in your waking life. Refer to the relevant entry in the index for the significance of other dream symbols of frustration and loss.

Dreams that present you with undisguised imagery—the roof falling in on you, or your car stalling on a motorway—may be warning signals to pay greater attention to the care and maintenance of yourself and the things around you. Other common images in nightmares and bad dreams include: menacing strangers, clifftops, dark woods, alleys, forests, heights and depths, land or sea storms, earthquakes, tidal waves, terrorist attacks, outbreaks of disease, friends or family who suddenly become cruel, dangerous, old or ugly, guns, knives and other weapons threatening you, car or plane crashes and being lost. All these scary images leave you with a sense that your place in the world is uncertain or shifting. You are out of control in a big way and your sense of self is eroding. Dreams in which your whole world is rocked or changed are clear symbols of fear, anxiety and a crisis in confidence. Dreams in which you sink slowly but inevitably into quicksand or are swallowed by an angry lion usually represent feelings of being overwhelmed in waking life. Dreams in which you are drowning have a similar interpretation.
