The essence or “manna” of life. In this interpretation, eating bread becomes a way of accepting spiritual gifts.
Financial concerns. In most cultures, bread is a symbol of providence. Kinship, especially if shared with another (e.g., “breaking bread together”).
Miracles and divine providence: Besides the story of Jesus with the loaves and fishes, Moses in the wilderness, and the Christian Host, bread was involved in many types of ancient spells for continued sustenance.
Various types of bread may have specific significance as well.
For example, pretzels are a solar wheel, unleavened bread represents haste, and hot cross buns symbolize the spring equinox, a time of renewed hope.
To see bread in your dream represents the basic needs of life, or aspects of things or people that sustain you. Bread may also signify the positive qualities and great things you have learned on your journey of life. A breadbasket denotes those aspects of life that contribute to your sustenance, a breadboard refers to life aspects that support your livelihood, whilst a breadbox portrays the energy you put into your livelihood. Breadcrumbs suggest a tiny amount of something and a breadline denotes a lack of emotional necessities. A bread machine suggests the ease of making a living or that which comes easily to you, whereas a bread mold suggests a possible need to change jobs or approach your existing job in a new way. A bread-stick represents things that you may overlook in real life, whilst a breadwinner characterizes someone who does the work.
Fellowship; communion with others in awareness that we are all a part of God’s body. Body as the temple of God; process of learning life’s lessons through staff of life or God awareness. Meditation or communion with God is the bread of life, the realization of our oneness with all things.
If the bread in your dream was dark, stale, and/ or hard, you can expect a sudden outcrop of annoying family worries; however, if it was fresh, white, and tasty, your future is secure, which is also the case if you dreamed of baking the bread yourself.
